The 21 Year Old BenRiach has been matured in a combination of four types of cask – ex-Bourbon, virgin oak, PX Sherry, and red wine casks. It opens with fresh summer fruit compote, soft vanilla and vibrant candied peel, developing into tangy red fruits, barley sugar with spice, chocolate, and warming ginger on the finish.

BenRiach 21-year-old is matured in a combination of ex-Bourbon barrels, virgin oak, Pedro Ximenez and red wine casks.
“BenRiach 21-year-old is the next step on [our] innovative journey, bringing together four eclectic casks in one single malt: Bourbon barrels at its core enriched by virgin American oak, Pedro Ximenez and red wine casks,” said master blender Rachel Barrie.
This unpeated single malt is one of two BenRiach expressions to be released at 21 years old. The second, which is described as ‘richly peated’, will be launched in early 2018..
