This limited edition 10 year old single malt was laid down at the Isle of Arran distillery in 1995 and bottled in 2005 in celebration of the distillery’s 10th anniversary.
One of just 1200 bottles, this rare vintage was matured in sherry butts and contains whisky distilled on Arran’s first day of production, the 29th June 1995. Supplied with original presentation box and hand-signed COA insert.
During the 18th and 19th centuries, there were over fifty illicit, and carefully hidden, distilleries on the Isle of Arran. The 1823 Excise Act resulted in a significant decrease in illegal distillation, and thus opening up an opportunity for a legal entity. The Lagg distillery on the Isle of Arran was opened in 1825. However, production was short lived and the distillery was closed in 1840, leaving the Isle of Arran devoid of whisky production for over 150 years! In 1995, the Arran Distillery was to open in Lochranza, finally bringing whisky back to the island ..and the rest, as they say, is history.
