Tomintoul Sauternes Cask Finish was distilled in 2004 and matured initially in ex bourbon American oak casks before being finished in French oak casks which previously contained Sauternes wine to add depth and complexity with stone fruits, honey, marmalade and spice.
Fragrant aromas of yellow fruits and orange marmalade mingled with ruby grapefruit, lemon drizzle cake and honeysuckle. The flavour is tangy and sweet with layers of acacia honey, dried papaya and Galia melon bound with sweet choux pastry, cardamom and soft tobacco spices. Lemon curd and apricot jam fading into cinnamon, baked apple and toasted oak linger on the finish.
