Balblair – Highland Single Malt Scotch 21 year old Whisky

The 21 Year Old was created as the ultimate display of the craftsmanship and dedication that goes into each and every bottle of Balblair. When experimenting with longer maturation profiles, they discovered that a longer 6 year ageing process in Spanish oak made for an exceptional result. This lengthy further maturation has created a rich, balanced whisky that stays true to Balblair’s distinctive character.

This 21 year old whisky started its journey maturing in American Oak ex-bourbon casks for 15 years, however its distinctive character was created by an extended further maturation period. Balblair has meticulously hand-selected the finest Spanish oak casks seasoned with Oloroso wine for the final six years of the aging process: imparting spiced fruity flavours and a deep, rich colour.

This 21 year old has the aroma of pineapple and apricots intertwined with aromatic cinnamon and nutmeg, followed by toffee apples and honey. Taste the tropical flavours of mango and pineapple laced with warming notes of cloves and ginger. Finishes with the long and lingering notes of dark chocolate and tropical fruits.
