This Balmenach Single Malt is an ideal Whisky to be finished in a Moulis-en-Medoc wine cask; the soft and elegant nature of the wine cask is perfectly balanced with this spicy, fruit forward Whisky.
Nose:Â Tremendous sweetness – pronounced aromas of rum and raisin fudge. Also fruity – apricots and peaches – and nutty, with a definite almond praline presence.
Taste:Â Brown sugar, brandy snaps, pecan pie and vanilla. Toasted bread. A tangy, fruitiness is evident, with cranberries and red plums. Sweet spicy notes of cinnamon, ginger, and allspice. Overall a rich, viscous, dessert-style dram, with an underlying spiciness.
