A small batch of four refill butts from Ben Nevis distillery has been used to create this Highland Single Malt, distilled in 2013 and aged for nine years. A stone’s throw from the River Lochy, on the outskirts of Fort William, Ben Nevis creates a full, fruity spirit and is one of the last distilleries to still use brewer’s yeast.
Nose: Fat and rich with dusty dark chocolate and sultanas. Dried mango coated in chocolate and hazelnuts.
Palate: Beautifully thick with charred marshmallow and kirsch chocolates. Almonds and dried fruit build and develop with more melted chocolate.
Finish: The dried mango becomes more pronounced with mandarin.
