Gold Medal winner – Distillers’ Single Malt Scotch – Up to 12 Years at the San Francisco World Spirits competition 2020
The brand new 10 year old release from The Benriach. Bottled at 43%, natural colour (as it should be) and non-chill filtered this is a fresh Speyside whisky and a brilliant value for money whisky and a perfect introduction to The Benriach range.
Nose: Apple pie, ginger toffeee, banana maltshake, poached pears, rich barley sugar, dusting of aromatic spices, creamy and nutty.
Palate: Tinned peaches in toffee sauce, spiced dark chocolate, toasted vanilla, peppery anise, stewed apple and pear with cinnamon & clove.
Finish: Bananas in butterscotch, toasted oak, vanilla, apricot, apple, nutty praline, buttery oak.
A spicier and more caramelised orchard fruit led replacement for the lighter and more elegant 12 year old but this is fantastic value for money and easily one of the best sub ÂŁ40 single malts on the market.
