The BenRiach distillery was founded late in the 1800s, though was closed in 1900 and remained shut until the 1960s. Since then it has picked up where it left off over 60 years ago, producing Whisky in the Speyside region, and they even have their own malting floor.
Nose: Hay barns, burnt toast, oily smoke. There’s an underlying sweetness and a heathery herbal fragrance too.
Palate: Initially sweet and mouth-coating, Sweet fruits, beeswax and black pepper. sooty smoke builds bring charcoal.
Finish: Long with sweet fruits and wood smoke. Charcoal lingers.
