The Smoky 10 offers an ideal introduction to the unique peat character of Benriach single malts, using a high proportion of sweet and smoky Highland peat. At a younger age, the smoky richness of the peat character is more distinctive and intense in flavour, ensuring this expression remains popular with whisky drinkers looking to explore a new smoky style from Islay peated malts.
Benriach The Smoky Ten has been crafted from a combination of unpeated and peated spirit and three cask matured for at least ten years in a combination of bourbon barrels, Jamaican rum casks and toasted virgin oak. The whisky is then expertly married together to create sublimely smooth layers of sunripe fruit, aromatic smoke and toasted oak spice, lingering into the perfectly balanced sweet and smoky finish.
AWARD WINNING Since moving to a three cask matured recipe, The Smoky Ten has won multiple gold medals at top industry awards, including back to back double gold medals at the 2019 and 2020 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
