The Fourth release of the “Five virtues series” from the Highland distillery Tomatin.
A series of five limited edition bottlings from Tomatin that will span 2017 and 2018 called the “Five Virtues” which is a creative collaboration between the award winning Tomatin distillery and leading contemporary artist Eva Ullrich.
“Metal” is represented by the distilleries twelve beautiful copper stills, through which every drop of Tomatin spirit flows.
Aged in first fill Ex-Bourbon barrels which demonstrate the definitive Tomatin style.
Our Tasting notes:
Nose: White grapefruit dusted with icing sugar, almond milk, rice pudding, lychee juice, white chocolate, musky white peach, malted milk biscuits and marsmallow spread on vanilla toast.
Palate: Buttery sponge cake mix, sugared almond/marzipan, creamy nougart or marshmallows, white chocolate, walnut whips, vanilla cheesecake, some gentle and playful spice and rhubarb and custard sweets.
Finish: Almond nougart, white grapefruit, vanilla fudge, milky ginger latte, custard powder, pick and mix fizzy sweetsand lasting aromatic spice.
Tomatin have with the “Five Virtues” series played a full house of a winning hand of single malts, a fresh and delicate, yet complex example of how to do 1st Fill Bourbon cask single malt.
