This is the second edition of Tomintoul’s Double Wood Matured whisky, which has been hand-selected by master distiller Robert Fleming from some of the oldest casks in its warehouse.
This has been matured for an impressive 50 years before bottling in April 2023. There are richly complex aromas of sweet malt, clove-studded-oranges and figgy pudding on the nose. The palate offers notes of chocolate-covered hazelnuts, darkly roasted coffee beans and a gentle oak spice that lingers in the finish.
