This heavily peated Single Malt Whisky from the Benriach distillery bursts with flavours of sweet vanilla, citrus, juicy stone fruit and barbequed pineapple, all wrapped up in a dense fog of peat smoke. Benriach Birnie Moss is crafted using malted barley smoked with Highland peat, and matured in ex-bourbon casks, enriching Benriach’s fruit-laden style with layers of rich peat and vanilla. The Whisky is bottled at a robust 48% ABV for a bold flavour and a satisfying, full bodied mouthfeel. Rich and smoke infused, with a superb balance of sweet and savoury elements, and a lingering finish of bonfire, walnut, spice and overripe fruit.
Nose: Bold and aromatic with abundant fruit, spice, barbequed meats and bonfire smoke.
Taste: Rich and full bodied with a satisfyingly creamy texture. Sweet vanilla custard, aromatic spices and ripe, juicy stone fruits mingle with intense wafts of smoke and crunchy malt.
Finish: Long and complex. The sweet fruits linger before being overtaken by delicate smoke and nutty spice.
